On April 28, 2026, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Decision No. 2244/QD-BKHCN, officially announcing the List of Vietnam's Standard Scientific Journals for 2026 for the first time.

In this List, all specialized scientific publications belonging to Journal of Health and Aging system were recognized, including:

  • Journal of Health and Aging (Vietnamese Edition);
  • Journal of Health and Aging (English Edition);

This result affirms the specialized nature, the interdisciplinary connection of Medicine and Pharmacy, and the sustainable development orientation of the Journal in the context of increasingly deep international medical integration. The 2026 List of Vietnam's Standard Scientific Journals recognizes 341 journals, including internationally indexed journals (SCOPUS, WoS) and domestic journals belonging to Ministries, Sectors, Hospitals, and Universities of Medicine and Pharmacy.

The decision to announce the 2026 List is evaluated as a significant milestone for the domestic medical research and healthcare community. In the context where evidence-based medicine is becoming the core foundation of treatment and elderly care, the requirements for the quality of medical publications are becoming increasingly strict. Journals must not only ensure the novelty and reliability of clinical trials but also strictly adhere to biomedical ethics, double-blind peer review processes, and publishing transparency.

Being included in the standard list, therefore, is not only a recognition but also a "passport" that helps Vietnam's geriatric medical research enhance its outreach and international integration.

After 2 years, Journal of Health and Aging has continuously innovated synchronously in both content and format, gradually approaching international medical publishing practices. The focus of this process is improving the quality of the Editorial Board with the participation of leading reputable experts, doctors, and scientists domestically and internationally, while standardizing the double-blind peer review process.

On that foundation, the Journal continues to expand its publication periods, covering many fields from basic research, clinical medicine, and geriatric pharmacology to public health policies. English publications such as the Journal of Health and Aging increasingly affirm their role as an academic bridge, contributing to strengthening the connection between Vietnamese doctors and researchers and the global medical community.

Being recognized in the 2026 List of Standard Scientific Journals once again affirms the position and contribution of the Journal of Health and Aging (Thong Nhat Hospital) in building a professional medical academic environment. This is a reliable forum that helps spread medical knowledge, improve treatment quality, and aim for the goal of comprehensive healthcare and enhancing the quality of life for the elderly in Vietnam.
